This week has been busy at the TJ. Inside, our carpenters are repairing the encasement for the original revolving doors and installing the remaining parts, which were ordered from the company who first constructed the door in the 1920s. Any new fixtures will be an exact match to this historic feature.
In the lobby, our crew is applying flat ceiling plaster and taking molds of the decorative plaster so that it may be repaired to historic standards. Modern cabinets are being installed in the units, and countertops are soon to follow.
In the annex, our team is setting grease traps that feed into the building’s restaurant space. We are also adding a masonry staircase to connect to the building’s first and second floors.
